Changelog
Every update to the Minecraft pixel art generator, newest first. Dates are actual ship dates.
Build guide: paint-by-numbers
- newEvery cell in the zoomed chunk view now shows a material number, matched to a numbered, color-swatched list on the right — dark blocks like Black Concrete and Coal Block are no longer guesswork.
- newHover any cell to see its block name and coordinates; click a material in the list to highlight every cell that uses it.
- newA "Mark whole chunk done" button checks off a finished 16×16 section in one click and advances to the next chunk — no more ticking 256 cells one by one.
Guide screenshots
- improvedThe photo-conversion and image-import guides now include real screenshots of the tool at each step instead of describing controls in text.
Simpler defaults, honest cleanup
- improvedBedrock version selection is now two plain choices instead of a Java-numbered dropdown that meant nothing on Bedrock.
- improvedDefault output width raised to 256 blocks — the old 128 default made most photos noticeably blurrier than they needed to be.
- improvedThe build guide now opens by default with each conversion result.
- newAdded a feature comparison table, a Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
- removedTook down the experimental house generator page — the visual results were not good enough to ship. It may return when they are.
One converter page instead of three
- improvedMerged the separate "image converter" and "picture to Minecraft" entry pages into the homepage — same tool, one canonical address. Old URLs redirect here.
Editing and playback
- newManual erase brush with scroll-to-zoom and pan — remove backgrounds or stray blocks from the result before exporting.
- newStep-build playback: watch the wall assemble block by block in placement order.
- improvedDithering and color-matching quality improvements across all palettes.
First release
- newImage to Minecraft block-art converter with versioned palettes (1.13–26.2, Java and Bedrock), OKLab color matching, dithering options, material list, and .schem / .litematic export. Everything runs in your browser — no upload, no signup.
- newGuides on turning photos into Minecraft builds and importing images into the game.
